As floodwaters continue to rise in the Midwest, animal shelters are under increasing pressure, with more animals to care for but no additional resources. "Sometimes people fleeing the flood waters aren't sure where they're headed. And while it may break their hearts, they leave their pets with us," says Susan Manson of the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
